Exhibitionism - Causes, Symptoms and Treatment
Exhibitionism Disorder features are:
1. Repeatedly for at least 6 months the patient has intense sexual desires, fantasies or behavior concerning genital self-exposure to an unsuspecting stranger.
2. Exhibitionism causes clinically important distress or impairs work, social or personal functioning.
Treatment of Exhibitionism
Almost always the treatment must be long-term if it is to be effective. Most exhibitionists do not receive treatment until they are caught by the police and the court orders treatment.
